How do you decide who gets which size?

I wish to be transparent about my selection process for the different sizes. The reason for the three sizes is mainly budget. I would love to send every person the largest set, but unfortunately shipping costs (especially related to the package weight/size) are getting crazy. By offering a few lighter options, I can afford to send to more people.

Before I select folks, I will have a gander at what you post about, try and get a flavor of who you are as a creator, the quality of your content, frequency of activity and your overall reach.

Please note: Your follower count is less important to me than the quality of your content. I have already earmarked King-sized packages for folks with modest follower counts simply because I love their content. I am all about quality over quantity.

The Curse of The Wax Witch - PR Sets

The PR sets come in three different sizes:

King Sized - A custom parcel box w/ Signed Paperback + Paper Gifts + a few spooky surprises

Fun Sized - A letter-box-sized soft packet w/Signed Paperback + Paper Gifts

Mini - A5 Letter-sized with a E-Book code + Paper Gifts (Kinda like a Mail club letter)

No food/perishable items. I have tried to use as little plastic as possible and source sustainable materials. No animal-derived products - vegan.

I am SUPER supportive of FAN ART!

If anyone illustrated, painted, crafted, sang, wrote, dramatized, or cosplayed something inspired by my work, I would LOVE that!

I have written, edited, illustrated, designed and assembled everything myself, adding up to well over 1100 additional hours on top of what it took to write the novel. I funded this project by participating in research studies, decluttering my house of junk on Vinted, selling my art on Redbubble, aggressively tracking manufacturer's flash sales, collecting voucher codes like Pokémon, doing freelance graphic design, and being a damn thrifty girl.

I have adored every second of it.

Regardless of how well my book does, I will never regret these past five months. I have loved spending time in the spooky world I dreamed up years ago, revisiting characters I now consider friends.

A free book? So What's the catch?

There is no catch.

I am only interested in spreading the word about my work and making folks smile. If selected, you will receive this PR pack as a gift, to do with what you will.

I don't believe that just because someone sends you PR, that you owe them anything. I will not chase you up for a response or a review. I would love a review or reaction but it is not required. The only future contact you will receive is emails with PR offers for upcoming releases. If you wish to message me, then I'm more than happy to chat, but otherwise, I wish you the best and sincerely hope you like my weird little care package and the adventure inside. I'll be satisfied if it makes you smile, maybe triggers some nostalgic memories of Halloweens gone by and gets you excited for the ones to come.

What should I do if/when I receive PR?

Firstly, you can open it whenever you like. You want Halloween to start now? Go for it, Ghoulie! Summerween is a vibe I support! I have built everything with unboxing and reveals in mind, so maybe have your camera out if you want reactions. All PR will have my logo on the outer packaging.

After you open:

• If you like the book and the contents of the PR package, then telling/showing/unboxing for your followers would be awesome and I would be truly grateful.

• If you find you do not have time to read my book or think it just isn't your cup of tea, then all I ask is that the book find its way to a spooky young reader or a perhaps a Little Library.

• If you hate the book...well, that's unfortunate, but I have a thick skin. Please be honest if you choose to review. I will never clap back or argue. It is not an author's place to interfere with reviews, good or bad, as a book review is a conversation between readers.

  Then I suppose you can use the paperback to level out any uneven bookshelves. I am all about multipurpose products!

A Note on Generative Artificial Intelligence

I am not a fan of A.I generated content and I have not used it to write this book (I actually wrote it before A.I was a thing). I personally believe that Generative A.I. has no place in the creative arts. It should be saved for assistive tasks and core societal benefits, such as helping people with disabilities access services, advancing medicine, developing affordable housing and finding energy alternatives.

Please don't use A.I. to create content about The Wax Witch. Please don't paste the book cover on A.I. images or feed any of my text or artwork into a generative A.I. model. And most importantly, please do not post A.I. images of any of my characters, settings or scenes.

The characters particularly.

I've spent a long time designing my characters and learning who they are. This includes visually as I illustrate them to help me write them better. They mean the world to me...because they are me. It would shatter my heart to see an A.I. slop version of them. Please don't do it, no matter how well intentioned.

I genuinely don't want this to be taken as a judgment or critique on how Creators choose to communicate. I can appreciate why so many people like Generative A.I. and find it helpful for creating content. I ain't gonna yuck anyone's yums or dictate how folks express themselves. I simply wanted to say something of behalf of my characters and my principals.

While I cannot actually prevent anyone from abusing my work with Artificial Intelligence, as I'm also a staunch defender of Free Speech, I can only hope this plea is effective in dissuading readers from using it.
